October 3: The ClintonKaine.com website is not what you'd think

Jeremy Peter Green says he bought clintonkaine.com for $7.30 in 2011 and recently sold the domain to the Trump campaign for $15,000, which is now using the site to troll Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Tim Kaine.

At the bottom of the website clintonkaine.com, which is filled with negative headlines about the Democratic ticket, is a note: "Paid for by Donald J. Trump for President, Inc." A Politico reporter noted the apparent Trump takeover of the domain Monday morning.

“CLINTON: SANDERS SUPPORTERS LIVE IN PARENTS BASEMENT” reads the top story, with a link to a Politico item.

As of Monday morning, all of the other links on the page went back to reports posted on the Republican National Committee’s research page.

Ironically, Green, a 28-year-old attorney, says he is actually a Clinton supporter who plans to volunteer for her on election day as a legal poll observer.

So how does he feel about the fact that the domain he once used is now attacking the candidate he supports?

"I am indeed okay with it. By the time Trump got his hands on the domain, it was getting only 50 visitors a day. Definitely not a $15,000 domain! I'm very happy to have Trump's money," Green told USA TODAY in an email.

November 3:
I bought the website Trump.org. Then Donald Trump came after me.

Using the site to criticize Trump got me a nasty letter from his lawyer.

February 21: Before he reached the White House, Trump's company had laid claim to at least 3,643 website domains, according to internet records gathered by CNNMoney ... [which] investigated 20 years of internet records using DomainTools, which tracks registrations and transfers. Some are obvious choices he acquired long ago, like TrumpOrganization.com and TrumpBuilding.org.

The vast majority are just blank pages. Only 50 of these domains are unique websites for Trump businesses. Another 400 redirect you to Trump websites.
