December 8:
Papadopoulos' fiancée counters claim he was just a 'coffee boy'
The fiancée of George Papadopoulos told ABC News that her soon-to-be
husband was not the low-level volunteer at the Trump campaign that others have
painted him as, countering that Papadopoulos was “constantly in touch with
high-level officials in the campaign.”
She said Papadopoulos will instead be remembered as “the first domino in the
Russia investigation.”

January 18:
The boss, the boyfriend and
the FBI: the Italian woman in the eye of the Trump-Russia inquiry
Simona Mangiante, the girlfriend of ex-Trump campaign aide George
Papadopoulos, also worked for a mysterious Russia-linked Maltese professor.
In an interview with the Guardian in Rome, Mangiante declined to get into
specifics about what exactly the FBI asked in the two-and-a-half-hour
interrogation, or any of the details of Papadopoulos’s ongoing discussions with
federal agents.
But she did shed new light on the mystery man who has emerged as a central
figure in the Trump investigation:
Joseph Mifsud, the Maltese professor who is not mentioned by name in the
Papadopoulos indictment – but who prosecutors have alleged was a key middleman
between the foreign policy aide and top Russian officials.

March 5: George Papadopoulos, the onetime Trump campaign foreign
policy adviser who became the first witness to cut a deal with the Special
Counsel
Robert Mueller’s Office, married his Italian fiancé in an intimate ceremony
in Chicago over the weekend.
Papadopoulos married Simona Mangiante, an accomplished Italian lawyer, on March
2. The two met during the campaign, while both were stationed in London, and
they were engaged as Papadopoulos became enmeshed in the growing investigation
into possible Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.
“He was very brave and decent to take responsibility” for lying to the FBI, she
said. “George is very loyal to his country.”

October 4:
Simona Mangiante-Papadopoulos
is misleading the public about her background
Mangiante’s public persona is as intriguing and interesting as her claims about
the Russia investigation. She has
portrayed herself as an actress, model, fashionista and lawyer focused on
international issues, including child abduction. However, a weeks-long
investigation into her international background has revealed that she isn’t
being truthful with at least some aspects of her background.
