Undated: Omarose Onee Manigault Newman (born February 5, 1974), commonly mononymously known as Omarosa, is an American reality television show participant, writer, and former political aide to President Donald Trump. She became widely known as a contestant on the first season of NBC's reality television series The Apprentice.

After becoming assistant to the president and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison during the Trump administration in January 2017, Newman resigned the White House on December 13, 2017. Subsequently, she competed on the first season of Celebrity Big Brother, making it to the final five of the season.

In August 2018, Newman published Unhinged, detailing her tenure at the White House and criticizing Trump and his administration. Two days before the book was released, she released the first of as many as 200 secret tapes she recorded during her White House tenure. As of 11 January 2019, she has released four tapes. The first tape she released, which was secretly recorded inside the Situation Room, was described as "one of the worst White House security breaches ever,"[1] though the tape is thought not to violate the Espionage Act.[2]

February 8: Omarosa Manigault-Newman, the "Apprentice" star turned White House aide, dished on her time in the Trump administration and her former boss' penchant for Twitter.

"I was haunted by tweets every single day, like what is he going to tweet next?" a tearful Manigault-Newman said in the teaser clip for Thursday's episode of "Celebrity Big Brother," the reality show on which she is a contestant.

Manigault-Newman claimed that when she attempted to reason with President Donald Trump about some of his tweets, she was "attacked" and denied access by "all of the people around him," including Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and daughter Ivanka Trump.

August 10: In her interview with NPR's Rachel Martin, Manigault Newman claims to have heard the tape and heard Trump using that slur on the tape.

But that's not what it says in her tell-all book, Unhinged, due out on Tuesday.

When asked by Martin about the discrepancy during the interview, Manigault Newman insisted Martin must not have read the book (she had) and pointed to a section at the very end of it.

But in that section, Manigault Newman doesn't actually describe hearing the tape. She writes of calling one of her "sources" who had a lead on the "N-word tape."

August 14: Trump Campaign Targets Omarosa Manigault Newman Over Tell-All Book ["Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House"]

President Trump's campaign arm has filed a complaint with an arbitrator, accusing former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman of violating a 2016 confidentiality agreement with her tell-all book and publicity tour.

In her book, Unhinged, and the accompanying tour, Manigault Newman has been harshly critical of the president, calling Trump a racist and suggesting that he suffers from dementia.

The president launched a volley of angry tweets in response, describing his former aide as a "crazed, crying lowlife" and "that dog."

August 15: The arbitration seeks to silence Omarosa ...  by enforcing a contract that Trump’s presidential campaign required all staffers and volunteers to sign. Even if you wanted to volunteer to phone bank from home, you had to sign this five-page agreement.

It is possible that some of this might be enforceable in the private sector. But Trump is no longer candidate Trump. Now he’s President Trump, and he’s not in the private sector anymore. The First Amendment prevents a government official from enforcing non-disclosure agreements — and certainly non-disparagement agreements — against government employees. Even ex-CIA agents can write about their experiences so long as they do not reveal classified information.

August 14: President Trump on Tuesday escalated his attacks on Omarosa Manigault Newman, the former White House aide who is on a tour promoting her new memoir. Newman says in the book that she heard a tape from the set of “The Apprentice” in which Trump used the N-word. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Tuesday that she “can’t guarantee” that Trump did not use the slur on a recording. Meanwhile, Trump lashed out again on Twitter, calling Newman a “dog ...”

August 14: White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended her boss' right to call his former protege, Omarosa Manigault-Newman, a "dog" on Twitter on Tuesday morning.

"I think the president is certainly voicing his frustration with the fact that this person has shown a complete lack of integrity, particularly by the actions following her time in the White House," Sanders said Tuesday afternoon in a press briefing.

She also said that Trump's usage of the word "dog" was not racial in nature. "This has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the president calling out someone's lack of integrity," Sanders said.

Susan Rice’s name is included on a list of officials who have criticized Trump, even though she has kept a relatively low profile.

August 15: Omarosa Claims Melania Trump Can't Wait to Divorce the President: She's 'Counting Every Minute

August 18: Omarosa releases secret tape of Lara Trump offering her $15K-a-month campaign job

The tape, which was broadcast on MSNBC, was made just days after the former "Apprentice" contestant left her White House job.

Omarosa Manigault Newman, the former reality TV star who became a top White House aide to President Donald Trump, on Thursday released exclusively to MSNBC a secret tape of campaign official Lara Trump offering her a $15,000-a-month job after she was fired from the administration.

The tape — which, according to Manigault Newman was made on Dec. 16, 2017, just days after she had left the White House — appears to corroborate claims she made in her new book about receiving an offer from the president's re-election campaign. Manigault Newman wrote in her book that the job offer came with the condition of signing a nondisclosure agreement; she said she did not accept it.

On the new tape, Lara Trump says: "It sounds a little like, obviously, that there are some things you've got in the back pocket to pull out. Clearly, if you come on board the campaign, like, we can't have, we got to," she continues, before Manigault Newman interjects, "Oh, God no."

"Everything, everybody, positive, right?" Trump continues.

September 10: In a recording newly released by Omarosa Manigault Newman of a White House communications meeting last October, President Donald Trump asks staffers if “Russia seems to have turned around.”

“Absolutely,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders replied.

Manigault Newman, who appeared on ABC's "The View", claimed Trump and the administration lied to the American people about the nature of the Robert Mueller investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

She also claimed she and other White House staffers would back everything the president said.

“We’d have to repeat those lies,”

September 10: Trump, aides on tape laugh about Niger ambush that left 4 US soldiers dead

President Donald Trump drew laughs from some of his aides as he joked about what a “rough business” terrorism is while discussing an ambush in Niger that left four U.S. soldiers dead last year, according to a covert recording released Monday.

Trump made the comments during a closed-door meeting at the White House in the wake of the Oct. 4, 2017, attack on the U.S. special forces, who were advising local troops fighting Islamic extremists in the African nation.

Former White House communications aide Omarosa Manigault Newman secretly recorded the conversation and provided a tape of it to MSNBC on Monday afternoon.
