Undated: [Bruce] Ohr served as the Justice Department contact for Christopher Steele, the former MI6 agent commissioned to author the Trump–Russia dossier; the men first met in 2007.[10] The dossier was prepared, under a contract to the DNC and the Clinton campaign, by the opposition research firm Fusion GPS. According to a Republican-led investigation, during the 2016 election, Fusion GPS hired Bruce's wife, Nellie Ohr, an independent contractor and Russia specialist, to conduct "research and analysis" of Donald Trump.[11][13][14] A comprehensive report done by ABC News disputes that Ohr's wife worked on the dossier, instead stating that she "was not directly involved in the 'dossier' while she worked for Fusion GPS."[3]

(Bruce Ohr’s 278e financial disclosure form lists her as an “independent contractor.”) The majority report of the House Intelligence Committee said she was “employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump.” A court filing by Simpson said Fusion GPS contracted with her “to help our company with its research and analysis of Mr. Trump.”

The dossier that Nellie Ohr's firm commissioned was used as evidence in a search warrant to spy on a Trump associate and contained humiliating claims about the former businessman's conduct.
Ohr was an employee at the time at the opposition research firm Fusion GPS. The firm hired an ex-British spy, Christopher Steele, a friend of the Ohrs, to build the case against Trump on Hillary Clinton's campaign's behalf. The work was later funded by Republicans.
Reports indicate Nellie Ohr did not work on the dossier and her time at Fusion GPS did not influence her husband's work at DOJ.
