Undated: Ivana Marie "Ivanka" Trump (born October 30, 1981) is an American businesswoman, fashion designer, author, reality television personality, and politician. She is the daughter of President Donald Trump and Donald's first wife Ivana. She is the first Jewish member of a First Family, having converted before marrying her Jewish husband, Jared Kushner.[1]

Trump is a fourth generation businessperson who followed in the footsteps of her great-grandmother Elizabeth, grandfather Fred, and father, serving for a time as an executive vice president of the family-owned Trump Organization. She was also a boardroom judge on her father's TV show The Apprentice.[2][3][4]

Starting in March 2017, she left the Trump Organization and began serving in her father's presidential administration as an adviser alongside her husband. She assumed this official, unpaid position after ethics concerns were raised about her having access to classified material while not being held to the same restrictions as a federal employee.[5][6][7] She was considered part of the president's inner circle even before becoming an official employee in his administration.[8]

March 21
:
President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump is to have an office in the White House, her lawyer says.

The 35-year-old will have security clearance and access to classified information, but no official title or salary when she works in the West Wing.

She will serve as her father's "eyes and ears" while providing broad-ranging advice, her
attorney told Politico.

... some have criticised the decision to give her a White House position, even though she will have no actual job title.

April 6: First daughter and White House aide Ivanka Trump reportedly met in secret with the head of Planned Parenthood, a new report Thursday says.

"The purpose of the meeting, from Cecile's point of view, was to make sure that Ivanka fully understood what Planned Parenthood does, how it is funded, and why it would be a terrible idea for Planned Parenthood to be removed from being able to see Medicaid patients," said Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Many Republicans on Capitol Hill favor cutting government funding to the organization, because of its association with abortion.

April 18: On April 6, Ivanka Trump’s company won provisional approval from the Chinese government for three new trademarks, giving it monopoly rights to sell Ivanka brand jewelry, bags and spa services in the world’s second-largest economy. That night, the first daughter and her husband, Jared Kushner, sat next to the president of China and his wife for a steak and Dover sole dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

The scenario underscores how difficult it is for Trump, who has tried to distance herself from the brand that bears her name, to separate business from politics in her new position at the White House.

Using the prestige of government service to build a brand is not illegal. But criminal conflict of interest law prohibits federal officials, like Trump and her husband, from participating in government matters that could impact their own financial interest or that of their spouse.

April 22: [Ivanka]
Trump became an unpaid special assistant to the president in late March. In the weeks since, American politics has seen a lot: a struggle in Congress over repealing the Affordable Care Act, a ratcheting-up of tensions with North Korea, an election in Georgia, fluctuating approval ratings for the president, the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and more. And although she may not have been involved everything, Trump has been busy, on Friday welcoming a recently freed hostage to the U.S. and preparing for her first official international trip to Germany.

June 5: CNN is facing considerable backlash after calling Ivanka Trump "America's most powerful Jewish woman."

The recently published piece began by describing her solemn visit to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, stating, "Her visit was striking for two reasons. It was a rare moment in which the First Daughter's carefully guarded faith was on public
display. And it underscored the unique role she plays in an administration that has faced criticism for not confronting anti-Semitism."

July 10: [Angela] Merkel said Saturday that [Ivanka Trump's sitting in for the president] was not uncommon.

"The delegations themselves decide" who will sit in for a President if they can't be present for a meeting, Merkel told reporters.

"Ivanka Trump was part of the American delegation, so that is something that other delegations also do, and it is very well known that she works in the White House and that she is also engaged in certain initiatives," Merkel said.

July 8: The World Bank used the occasion to launch a public-private loan program aimed at providing over $1 billion to support women entrepreneurs in developing countries, a project Ivanka first initiated just five months ago.

“This is not a cute little project,” World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said at the kick-off, attended by six of the 20 world leaders at the summit, plus leaders from other donor countries and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.

”This is going to be a major driver of economic growth in the future ... and it’s going to drive gender equality at the same time,” Kim said.

He underscored the importance of having a “champion” like Ivanka Trump to galvanize action on an important issue.

July 19: Rep. Don Beyer today led over 20 Representatives in requesting answers from the FBI about possible discrepancies on Ivanka Trump’s SF-86 form, which she was required to complete when she obtained a security clearance earlier this year.

Their letter noted that the SF-86 requires the declaration of foreign contacts, meetings, and business interests by the clearance holder’s spouse and siblings. The Representatives asked whether Ivanka Trump properly disclosed her own meetings and contacts, as well as those of her husband, Jared Kushner, and brother Donald Jr.

The Representatives wrote:
“As a member of the White House staff and close adviser to the president, [Ivanka] Trump applied for a security clearance, and, as a result, was required to disclose her own foreign contacts as well as those of her spouse and siblings.”

Ivanka Trump doesn't like being called "complicit" in her father's policy agenda. But her great sin is helping to vouch for and normalize her father's character. November 15: The presidential daughter and adviser, in a “full-blown sprint” as she sells the Republican tax overhaul plan and juggles other initiatives, has had it with all that talk about her “pet project” to increase the child tax credit.

“I get a little bit frustrated when people call it a pet project,” Trump told The Associated Press as she spent a day shuttling between events in multiple states. “This is a major project, this is not a pet project. This is a major initiative to ensure that there is meaningful middle-income tax relief for the American taxpayer.”

Ivanka Trump heads to India amid criticism and disappearing beggars

US secretary of state Rex Tillerson has declined to send a high-level diplomatic team with Trump, CNN reported on Nov. 25—he is reportedly against “bolstering” her image on the world stage.

...
in preparation for Trump’s visit, authorities in Hyderabad have been rounding up beggars from traffic junctions, bus stops, and railway stations, the Press Trust of India reported earlier this month.

The city has banned begging in public areas and moved over 200 beggars to separate shelter homes for men and women, where they are often separated from their family members. There they are offered clean clothes and a shower, and threatened with jail time on begging again.

Some city residents have also
alleged poisoning of stray dogs to sanitise the city for Trump’s visit, which may include a sight-seeing trip to the historic Charminar.

Ivanka, Rubio find a new project: Paid family leave  ... Can the duo pining for a softer side of Republicanism win over the GOP?

Ivanka Trump and Marco Rubio have a terrible plan for paid family leave

“Moderate” Republicans have long promised a breakthrough idea on family leave. It’s here, and there’s a catch

This is a plan being considered by people who recently voted for a $1.5 trillion tax cut for corporations — a plan that ended the estate tax and whose primary recipient was the rich — who now want to ask working-class and middle-class Americans to make a choice: Would you rather retire sooner, or take time for childbirth and child-raising?

February 7:
Ivanka Trump teams up with conservatives to push Democratic themes

Ivanka Trump showed up in Washington last year with a to-do list of policies straight from the Democratic Party playbook. The president's daughter — a former Democratic donor — wanted the administration to tackle paid family leave, equal pay for women and affordable childcare.

She thought Democrats would join her in trying to move the agenda forward — after all, these were issues they had been championing for years and the president had just campaigned on some of them. But Democrats said her plan did not go far enough and while still discussing the issues with her, they have largely avoided teaming up with her. So the former businesswoman has turned to conservatives to try to make a deal.

"The part that I find confusing about [Ivanka] is that she works in the administration; she has an office in the White House, and she has claimed not to be a political person. February 24: Ivanka Trump practices diplomacy on South Korea Olympics trip

Ivanka Trump is leading the US delegation to the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony, and the trip has thus far proved to be an exercise in diplomacy for the first daughter and senior adviser to the President.

February 26: This Ivanka Trump answer is exactly why nepotism laws exist ... "Do you believe your father's accusers?"

This is how she answered: "I think it's a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he's affirmatively stated there's no truth to it."

That's a totally fine answer for a daughter to give! Makes perfect sense! Except ...

Ivanka Trump isn't just a daughter. She's also a White House senior adviser. She has an office in the building. She is seen as one of a very small group of voices the President listens to.

Given the #metoo movement, the number of high-profile men who have either admitted to or faced serious accusations about sexual assault or misconduct and the accusations Trump himself faces, it's entirely reasonable to ask a senior aide to the President about it all.

And, in her I'm-my-father's-daughter answer, Ivanka is trying to have it both ways.

Optics and ethics are two words that simply are lacking in the Trump family lexicon.

We already knew President Donald Trump’s recent about-face on the Chinese telecom company ZTE—considered a national security threat by both Democrats and Republicans—was suspect. Shortly after Trump tweeted earlier this month that he was reversing policy on ZTE, news reports surfaced that the Chinese government had agreed to grant $500 million in loans to an Indonesian resort project that would directly enrich Donald Trump. The loan was announced just 72 hours before Trump tweeted his order to bail out ZTE from impending closure.

Now, the government ethics watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is reporting that the Chinese government approved five trademark applications for Ivanka Trump’s businesses the same week Trump tweeted his pro-China reversal. Another trademark was approved the previous week. It’s probably just a coincidence.
