May 10:  ... all 20 of our candidates won their primary elections on Tuesday night!

-All three of our U.S. House candidates won their primaries ...

-In North Carolina, all three of our endorsed state legislative candidates won, as did our candidate for Durham County District Attorney ...

-And in Ohio, our candidate for secretary of state and all 12 of our state legislative candidates won their primaries!

... in May, there are major primary elections almost every week ...

We have 21 candidates on the ballot this coming Tuesday in Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. And they're running for races for U.S. House, governor's seats, and state legislatures

May 25: We know life for women and families across the country gets better when our government looks more like the people they represent.

With women making up just 20 percent of Congress, there's still plenty of work for us to do.

It can be easy to forget how far we've come, and how far we still have to go.

It wasn't until 1986 that the first Democratic woman was elected to the Senate in her own right.

And it wasn't until 1992 that we had more than two women in the Senate — and we elected the first black woman senator.

And don't forget 2007, the year Nancy Pelosi became the first woman speaker of the House.

But we still have so far to go — making sure we elect a woman to every state's delegation, electing a woman to the White House, and more.

June 4: The numbers don't lie ...

So far, primaries have been held in 147 House districts, and women have been the nominees in
43 percent of the Democratic contests.

That's an excellent start. But 19 states and D.C. have primary elections in June — and we need to keep up the support for pro-choice Democratic women in competitive races.

... numbers ... on the Republican side are fairly weak. ... In the primaries held so far, just 7 percent of all the Republican House nominees have been women.

June 6:
Super Tuesday ... We had 48 endorsed pro-choice Democratic women on the ballot, and so far 40 of them have won ...

Here's a breakdown:

--
House: Seven of our candidates on the ballot last night won, including four running in red-to-blue races ... The results for five of our California candidates will likely trickle in this week ...

-- Governor: ... Michelle Lujan Grisham won her primary in New Mexico — she's now one step closer to being the nation's first-ever Democratic Latina governor ...

-- State & Local: 31 of our state and local candidates won last night, including Lauren Arthur (MO-SD17), who won her red-to-blue special election, and Deidre DeJear who, if elected, would be Iowa's first black statewide elected official as secretary of state. https://www.emilyslist.org/
