July 29: Donald Trump has apparently been slow to adapt to new technology.

The New York Times obtained court documents containing hundreds of pages of sworn testimony from Trump over the past decade. The documents revealed that, as of 2007, the real-estate magnate didn't use a computer at his home or in his office, didn't send text messages, and didn't email for a while.

Undated: In 2017, ProPublica reported that Kasowitz may be ineligible for a federal security clearance due to his alcohol abuse.[30] After reading the articles, a currently unidentified individual sent an email to Kasowtiz urging him to "resign now." Kasowitz replied with a series of profanity-laced emails, some of which took a threatening tone, writing, "I'm on you now. You are fucking with me now Let's see who you are Watch your back, bitch," as well as "Call me. Don't be afraid, you piece of shit. Stand up. If you don't call, you're just afraid." And later: "I already know where you live, I'm on you. You might as well call me. You will see me. I promise. Bro."[31]

The emailer forwarded the emails to the Federal Bureau of Investigation to report the threats, and Kasowitz subsequently issued a statement saying "The person sending that email is entitled to his opinion, and I should not have responded in that inappropriate manner...This is one of those times where one wishes he could reverse the clock, but of course I can't."[32]

March 14: New York attorney general: Tillerson used 'Wayne Tracker' email at Exxon to discuss climate

The office of Eric Schneiderman revealed the unorthodox arrangement in a letter sent to a New York state judge on Monday that also accused Exxon of failing to produce documents related to an investigation into whether the company misled investors over climate change.

March 14: The oil company [Exxon] confirmed that Tillerson had used the "Wayne Tracker" email while CEO. In a statement it also said it had provided more than 2.5 million pages of documents to the attorney general ... Tillerson's middle name is Wayne.

Tillerson has significant sway over climate change issues as secretary of state. He is far from being a climate change denier, however. With Tillerson as CEO, Exxon acknowledged in 2006 that climate change is a problem. The company later endorsed a carbon tax and backed the Paris climate agreement.

November 19: Ivanka Trump used a personal email account to send hundreds of emails about government business last year

Ivanka Trump sent hundreds of emails last year to White House aides, Cabinet officials and her assistants using a personal account, many of them in violation of federal records rules, according to people familiar with a White House examination of her correspondence.

White House ethics officials learned of Trump’s repeated use of personal email when reviewing emails gathered last fall by five Cabinet agencies to respond to a public records lawsuit. That review revealed that throughout much of 2017, she often discussed or relayed official White House business using a private email account with a domain that she shares with her husband, Jared Kushner.

The discovery alarmed some advisers to President Trump, who feared that his daughter’s practices bore similarities to the personal email use of Hillary Clinton, an issue he made a focus of his 2016 campaign. He attacked his Democratic challenger as untrustworthy and dubbed her “Crooked Hillary” for using a personal email account as secretary of state.

November 20: Ivanka Trump’s lawyer is hitting back against “misinformation being peddled” in the press alleging that the president’s daughter sent “hundreds” of emails about government business using her personal email.

"To address misinformation being peddled about Ms. Trump’s personal email, she did not create a private server in her house or office, there was never classified information transmitted, the account was never transferred or housed at Trump Organization, no emails were ever deleted, and the emails have been retained in the official account in conformity with records preservation laws and rules," Mirijanian said.
