[Due to his unfavorable comments about foreign governments] not much has changed, judging by Friday's international commentary on Trump's speech at the GOP convention.

February 12: Thousands of demonstrators waving Mexican flags and signs denouncing President Trump marched through central Mexico City on Sunday, the largest mobilization in the capital  to date against the controversial polices of the Trump White House.

“We are not against the American people: This is about Trump, who is spreading hate and division,” said Maria Garcia, a former resident of Chicago who carried an unflattering, paper-mache likeness of the U.S. president. “The United States and Mexico are natural friends and allies, but Trump  is destroying this.”

This is the highest level of favorability of the ACA measured in more than 60 Kaiser Health Tracking Polls since 2010 and is largely driven by a change in the views of independents, among which 50 percent now view the law favorably.

April 27: Today ... is a terrifying new day. Frankly, it is as if we have suddenly found ourselves trapped in a not-fun-Fun House. Scary voices distort what we hear; weirdly curved mirrors distort what we see; a thick layer of fog seems always to swirl around us. How have we ended up trapped in this Dali-esque structure? It’s because the goal of this new president is in fact radically different from the others we have had before. The leader of our nation today seeks not to avoid the traumas of the past. Instead, he has shown so far an interest in reinstituting and resurrecting those mistakes — the immigration panics of the ’20s, the law-and-order mania of the ’80s, and others — as if they were the solutions to our most troubling problems.  [Heather Ann Thompson, history professor at the University of Michigan and author of Blood in the Water]

April 28: President Donald Trump, reflecting on a first 100 days in office that has featured no major legislative wins and low approval ratings, said Thursday he thought the job would be easier.

"I loved my previous life, I loved my previous life. I had so many things going," Trump said in an interview with Reuters. "I actually, this is more work than my previous life. I thought it would be easier."

He later added, "I do miss my old life. This -- I like to work. But this is actually more work."

November 1: The President's approval rating during his third quarter in the White House was just 36.9% in daily Gallup tracking polling. That means Trump's number marks the lowest third-quarter approval in seven decades of surveys

November 16: “The fish rots from the head” ... “and the stench of this administration starts at the very top.” ... a historian on the unique corruption of Trump’s White House ...

“Politicians lie, but this is different,” says a historian who studies presidential history and estimates the Trump administration easily ranks among the most corrupt in American history.

Robert Dallek is a presidential historian and the author of several books, including his latest about FDR titled Franklin Roosevelt: A Political Life. Writing recently for the Guardian, Dallek lamented the “disaster” that is the Trump presidency but also reminded readers that American democracy is surprisingly resilient and has survived far worse.

Despite Trump’s promises to “drain the swamp,” the first year of his administration has been plagued by resignations, investigations, and scandals. Dallek estimates that historical examples of corruption, like that of the Warren G. Harding administration, don’t hold a candle to how Trump and his people have conducted themselves in the White House.

History will judge Trump, and it will not be kind.

November 17: While Americans’ perception of their country has risen, global perception of the United States saw a substantial decline over the past year, causing the U.S. to drop from first to sixth place in Anholt-GfK’s annual Nation Brands Index (NBI).

November 20: ... it's not breaking new ground at this point to suggest Donald Trump's base has cultish tendencies. But it's still amazing sometimes to hear the extent to which Trump's supporters will stick with the president no matter what. December 5: President Donald Trump’s approval rating dropped three points from a late November survey to 35 percent. Voters said by a margin of 56-40 percent that Trump is not fit to be president, tying his all-time low score on that question.

September 6: In light of an op-ed published by an anonymous Trump official this week alleging that senior staff are working to thwart the president's agenda, U.S. Sen. Bob Corker says allegations are no surprise.

“I am not a fan of anonymous op-eds, but I don’t think those of us who have worked closely with people in the White House are surprised by the content," Corker, a Republican who shares long-running beef with Trump, said in a statement Thursday.

"I think the biggest issue they’re going to have is figuring out who wouldn’t have written a letter like that," Corker said.

A look at Trump’s ‘A-plus’ weekend: Finnish leaf-raking, ‘Pleasure,’ Calif., and Adam ‘Schitt’z

This weekend, Trump managed to insult a venerated military veteran, mangled the name of a wildfire-scarred town that he had just left, confused the president of Finland by making strange comments about leaf raking and, like a grade-schooler, attempted to taunt a critic in Congress with a naughty play on his name. All in just 48 hours.

The disapproval rating increased seven percentage points since last week.

Gallup polls, which are conducted each week, reflect more fluctuation in Trump's approval, which has moved often between 35% and 45% since he assumed the office of President.
