Undated:  Rachel Crooks was a Democratic candidate who sought election to the Ohio House of Representatives to represent District 88. Crooks lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary on May 8, 2018.

In 2016, Crooks accussed [sic] President Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her in 2006. On February 20, 2018, Crooks tweeted, "Please, by all means, share the footage from the hallway outside the 24th floor residential elevator bank on the morning of January 11, 2006."

Trump called the allegation "Another False Accusation", tweeting, "A woman I don’t know and, to the best of my knowledge, never met, is on the FRONT PAGE of the Fake News Washington Post saying I kissed her (for two minutes yet) in the lobby of Trump Tower 12 years ago. Never happened!" Trump was referring to a profile of Brooks [sic] published by The Washington Post on February 19, 2018.[1

February 5: Who is Rachel Crooks? Trump Sexual Misconduct Accuser Enters Ohio Race in District President Carried

In the weeks before President Donald Trump won the 2016 election, 35-year-old Rachel Crooks accused him of kissing her "directly on the mouth" and regarding her as "insignificant." In 2018, Crooks will run for office in Ohio’s 88th district—a challenge of sorts to the rural community that gave Trump more than 61 percent of the vote over Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton.

Crooks' sexual misconduct accusations—first reported by The New York Times—did not deter Trump from assuming presidency, nor did it keep Sandusky County and Seneca County from voting for him. Trump escaping any consequences encouraged Crooks to run for Ohio's House of Representatives as a Democrat, she told Cosmopolitan.com.

“I think my voice should have been heard then, and I'll still fight for it to be heard now,” Crooks told Cosmopolitan, who first reported her candidacy. “Americans are really upset with politics as usual, and I want to be a voice for them.”

Crooks is the director of international student recruitment at Heidelberg University in Ohio, according to her LinkedIn. Her 12-year background in higher education formed several of her policy priorities, including an interest in fixing the state’s underfunded public education system and ensuring access to affordable healthcare, she told Cosmopolitan.

May 9: Women across the country have been motivated to run for office since President Donald Trump’s election — and one of them, Rachel Crooks, is also one of the many women who has accused Trump of sexual misconduct.

On Tuesday, Crooks, a Democrat, won an uncontested primary in Ohio for a seat in the state’s House of Representatives. She’ll face second-term Republican Rep. Bill Reineke in November, and if she wins, she’ll be the first Trump accuser to hold elected office.

November 6: Rachel Crooks, Woman Who Accused Trump of Harassment, Loses Ohio Legislature Bid

Democrat Rachel Crooks lost on Tuesday to incumbent Republican state Rep. Bill Reineke in her first attempt at a public office.

Crooks said she decided to run in Ohio's Republican-leaning 88th House District partly because she thinks Trump escaped consequences for harassment alleged by her and others.
