March 30:
The anti-Trump: Rep. Maxine Waters’ no-holds-barred remarks find fans

Rep. Maxine Waters doesn’t expect to pose for a photo with President Donald Trump anytime soon.

In fact, the California congresswoman plans to boycott any meeting, event, ceremony or public event with the president, at the White House or even in her home district of Los Angeles.

“I don’t see myself meeting with him, sitting down with him, believing anything he would say or even respecting anything he would say,” Waters said sternly to The Associated Press. “It would not be honest on my part to go to any ceremonies with him or to pretend I am having a decent conversation with him.”

And if Trump personally invited her to the White House for a conversation? “I wouldn’t go,” she said emphatically.

April 5: Congresswoman Maxine Waters on Wednesday night said that Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and President Donald Trump should be locked up for alleged sexual harassment.

In an appearance on MSNBC's "All in with Chris Hayes," Waters — who has not been quiet about her disdain for President Donald Trump — said O’Reilly should be arrested for alleged sexual harassment against coworkers and explained her distrust of the Trump administration's foreign policy.

"They are two of a kind," she added. "I’m not surprised."

"It’s all catching up with Bill O’Reilly and that sexual harassment enterprise at Fox [News],” she said in reference to the dozens of advertisers who have said they will not buy spots during his show "The O’Reilly Factor."

May 16:
Don’t tell Maxine Waters not to talk about impeachment.

Asked about impeaching President Donald Trump on Monday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that some of her members are pushing to remove Trump from office, but warned, “What are the facts that you would make a case on? What are the rules that he may have violated? If you don’t have that case, you’re just participating in more hearsay.”

Representative Maxine Waters didn’t get the memo. Speaking Tuesday afternoon at the liberal Center for American Progress Ideas Conference in Washington, D.C., the California congresswoman made the impeachment case to her fellow Democrats. “I know that there are those who are talking about ‘Well, we’re gonna get ready for next election,’” she said. “No. We can’t wait that long. We don’t need to wait that long. He will have destroyed this country by then. We cannot wake up every morning to another crisis, to another scandal.”

October 12: Ben Carson appears to contradict Donald Trump on Puerto Rico in a tense exchange with a top Democratic congresswoman

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson and Rep. Maxine Waters exchanged words at a House Financial Services Committee hearing on Thursday, and Carson appeared to disagree with President Donald Trump's suggestion that the federal government cannot provide aid to Puerto Rico "forever."

Waters began the hearing by asking Carson if he agreed with the assertion Trump made in a tweet Thursday morning that hurricane aid to Puerto Rico would not continue indefinitely.

"I think that our job is to make sure that we take care of the disaster that has occurred," Carson eventually responded. When Waters urged him to respond directly to whether he thought Puerto Rico should be abandoned, Carson stated, "Of course it should not be abandoned."

Responding to another question from Waters about Trump's accusations that Puerto Rico is to blame for its financial crisis, Carson said, "I don't think it is beneficial to go around shaming people in general."

Waters concluded this line of questioning by saying she was "glad to hear [Carson doesn't] agree with the president."

October 28: Maxine Waters fires up Women's Convention in Detroit with tough words

In no uncertain terms, Congresswoman Maxine Waters warned those who prey on women to "keep your hands off" Saturday at the Women's Convention in Detroit.

The 79-year-old Democratic icon from California, who's known for her no-filter honesty, was greeted with a standing ovation by a crowd at the Cobo Center.

Waters was there to address a packed hall of attendees -- and to be honored for speaking truth to power at an event titled the Sojourner Truth Luncheon.

Focusing largely on the issue of sexual harassment and assault that's been driven by the news about movie producer Harvey Weinstein, Waters stressed that the problem isn't limited to the entertainment industry.

Citing teachers, nurses, women serving in the military and fellow U.S. representatives who've added their voices to the #MeToo movement, Waters declared that such behavior toward women will not be tolerated.

"Keep your nasty comments away from us... Keep your hands off our backs and our g--damn bodies. We're not going to take it anymore," she warned.

Waters also made it clear that she thinks President Donald Trump is part of the problem. The grassroots women's movement grew out of concerns that rights for women and other groups would be impacted negatively by the  Trump administration.

"This president has no respect for women," said Waters.

January 12: Rep. Waters Statement on Donald Trump’s Racist Slurs About Immigrants

“Donald Trump is a racist and indecent man with no good values who is woefully unfit and undeserving of the office in which he serves. That this president, a deeply flawed human being with no understanding of public policy, would make such ill-informed and deplorable comments about Haitians, Salvadorans, and immigrants from African countries, merely underscores everything we already know about him: he is a hopeless and ignorant bigot.
