Undated: Jerome Robert Corsi (born August 31, 1946) is an American author, political commentator, and conspiracy theorist.[1][2] His two New York Times best-selling books, Unfit for Command (2004) and The Obama Nation (2008), attacked Democratic presidential candidates and have been criticized for including numerous inaccuracies.[3][4][5]

In other books and columns for conservative sites such as WorldNetDaily and Human Events, Corsi has discussed conspiracy theories, such as the alleged plans for a North American government; the theory that President Barack Obama is not a United States citizen;[6] criticism of the United States government for allegedly covering up information about the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001;[7] and alleged United States support of Iran in its attempts to develop nuclear weapons.[8][9][10]

In 2017, he became the Washington, D.C., bureau chief for [a] conspiracy theory website ..., but no longer works for the website.[11][12]

In 2018 Corsi was subpoenaed by the Mueller Special Counsel Investigation over his contacts with former Donald Trump adviser Roger Stone and foreknowledge of WikiLeaks releases of stolen Clinton emails. While Corsi claimed that he turned down a plea deal with Robert Mueller, and denied any such contacts or knowledge, draft court documents released in November showed that he emailed Stone several times, updating him about impending WikiLeaks releases of stolen emails.

November 13: Mueller seeking more details on Nigel Farage, key Russia inquiry target says

Jerome Corsi, a conservative author, said prosecutors working for Mueller questioned him about Farage, the key campaigner behind Britain’s vote to leave the European Union, two weeks ago in Washington.

Corsi said investigators for the special counsel also pressed him for information on Ted Malloch, a London-based American academic with ties to Farage, who informally advised Donald Trump and was interviewed by FBI agents earlier this year.

November  23: Conservative writer and conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi is in plea negotiations with special counsel Robert Mueller, according to a person with knowledge of the talks.

The talks with Corsi – an associate of both President Donald Trump and GOP operative Roger Stone – could bring Mueller’s team closer to determining whether Trump or his advisers were linked to WikiLeaks’ release of hacked Democratic emails in 2016, a key part of his long-running inquiry.

November 26: An associate of Roger Stone said Monday he is refusing to sign a plea deal offered by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Jerome Corsi, whose role in Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election largely revolves around the possibility that he was an intermediary between Stone and WikiLeaks, said he was offered a deal to plea on one count of perjury.

"They can put me in prison the rest of my life. I am not going to sign a lie," Corsi told CNN in a phone call.

Asked what happens now that he is refusing, Corsi responded: "I don't know."

November 28: Jerome Corsi is a Harvard-trained conspiracy kingpin. But is he the link between WikiLeaks and the Trump campaign?

November 28: Jerome Corsi and Donald Trump Are Playing With Fire

Jerome Corsi is a living testament to the truth that having a Ph.D., even from Harvard, doesn’t necessarily mean that all your lug nuts are screwed down tight. For roughly the last 15 years, he has been a regular on right-wing media outlets promoting various conspiracy theories and baseless smears against both Democratic and Republican politicians. He helped “Swift Boat” John Kerry, wrote an Obama birther book, claimed that President George W. Bush was a secret globalist pursuing a “North American Union,” and maintains that Hitler survived World War II and oil does not come from organic matter.

Unsurprisingly, he was slithering around the inner circle of the 2016 Trump presidential campaign as an associate of Roger Stone and has been drawn into the Mueller investigation. Mueller’s interest in Corsi arises from the fact that in the summer of 2016, Stone appears to have asked Corsi to help contact WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange about stolen emails relating to Hillary Clinton that Assange had allegedly obtained from GRU, the Russian intelligence service.

November 28: Trump Is in a Joint Defense Agreement With Birther Conspiracy Theorist Jerome Corsi

Corsi is one of the far-right proponents furthering the so-called birther theory, the erroneous claim that former President Barack Obama was ineligible to be commander in chief because he wasn’t born in the U.S.

Trump was an avowed supporter of the anti-Obama birther movement, using it to help build his political base in his march to the White House.

Corsi has been questioned as part of the ongoing Mueller investigation due to his ties to Roger Stone. NBC News reported that Corsi tipped off Stone to the WikiLeaks Hillary Clinton email dumps. Corsi was reportedly offered a plea deal by Mueller, but told CNN that he refused it, as he is “not going to sign a lie.” He added that he expects to be indicted for lying to investigators, even though he doesn’t believe he willfully misled anyone.

December 4: The Mystery Of Jerome Corsi’s Joint Defense Agreement With Donald Trump

Since going public last week with a draft plea agreement from special counsel Robert Mueller, Corsi has claimed that Trump attorney Jay Sekulow took care to make sure that a joint defense agreement between the two parties was never put down to paper, and remained oral.

December 27: Judge denies special counsel Robert Mueller's request to delay hearing in Roger Stone associate Jerome Corsi's lawsuit over government shutdown

A federal judge on Thursday denied a request by special counsel Robert Mueller and several other federal agencies to delay an upcoming hearing in a lawsuit brought by Roger Stone-linked conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi.

Government attorneys had argued in a United States district court filing Wednesday that the ongoing government shutdown hamstrung their lawyers by cutting off funding to the Justice Department.

"Absent an appropriation, Department of Justice attorneys are generally prohibited from working, even on a voluntary basis, except in very limited circumstances," they claimed in the filing in Washington, D.C., District Court.

A lawyer for Corsi, 72, retorted that the request for a delay was being "proffered tactically," and asserted that "it is highly doubtful" DOJ attorneys "are actually prohibited from working."

Judge Richard Leon denied the request for a stay in proceedings, and reaffirmed that a hearing will be held in a Washington, D.C. courthouse next Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.

January 3: Judge Hands Setback To Conspiracy Theorist Corsi In His Suit Against DOJ

Jerome Corsi ... claims he has been unlawfully surveilled and pressured by government investigators leading the Russia probe.

Corsi's attorney, Larry Klayman, tried to land the dispute with Judge Richard Leon.

Justice Department lawyer Elizabeth Tulis cried foul. She cited a rule dictating that only cases with identical litigants could be assigned to the same judge.

The judge swiftly agreed with her, not even taking a recess to deliberate.

The brief hearing did reveal a few new details: Corsi said the FBI had reached out to his stepson, apparently after investigators read an electronic message in which Corsi and the stepson discussed a "scrub" of a computer.

Corsi told reporters that machine had nothing to do with Russian election interference, WikiLeaks or other intermediaries who may have facilitated hacking or publishing of stolen emails from the Clinton campaign or the Democratic National Committee in 2016.

Leon ordered the clerk to reassign the dispute using the typical random assignment system. The case was assigned to Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle. ... Corsi lawsuit to continue
